Microsoft has started rolling out a new update for their Edge mobile browser for iPhone, adding new features and several tweaks to it. Microsoft has also added one of the iPhone’s signature feature: 3D Touch support. Hence, with the latest update, Microsoft Edge can now take ‘advantage’ of the 3D Touch feature on the ‘most recent’ iPhone devices, allowing users to “peek” at pages by using the 3D touch rather than opening it.
Users can preview specific content by long-pressing the Edge icon. It then pops up several tabs choose from and eventually bringing them “full screen.” Reports claim that this feature will work with all types of links that appear on the recent pages tab.
In addition to this, Edge for iOS also comes with some essential features like the ability to open links in other apps using the native ‘iOS share sheet’ as well as Find in page in the “…” menu. It also gives the option to choose the content region for the news feed. For this, you need to go to Settings menu and then click on the New Tab page to customise it.
The complete changelog from the latest update includes the following features:
The latest Microsoft Edge version 4.1.10 is available for download on Apple App Store. Microsoft developers have said that the browser for the iPad version of the app is under works and it will support iPad and Android tablets pretty soon.
