Micromax, expanding its smartphone portfolio, launched the Bharat 5 today in India. The latest budget smartphone from the Bharat series packs a massive 5000mAh battery which is rated to deliver more than 2 days of battery backup. The all-new Bharat 5 is priced at Rs 5,555 and it is available for purchase in brick and mortar stores across the country from today.
Talking about its specifications, the Bharat 5 features a 5.2-inch display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. Internal storage on the phone can be further expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.
The dual-SIM Bharat 5 ships with Android 7.1 Nougat right out-of-the-box. The phone has a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the rear side with LED flash. Up front, it has another 5-megapixel unit and offers LED flash support for better selfies in poorly lit conditions.
Connectivity options on the Bharat 5 include- 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, Micro-USB port for charging, FM Radio and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The affordable Bharat 5 smartphone bundles an exciting launch offer. The company has partnered with Vodafone to provide 50GB of free data for new and existing Vodafone subscribers who purchase the new Micromax handset. The home-grown smartphone manufacturer aims to sell more than 6 million Bharat-series smartphones by March 2018. The company has also announced that it will launch more smartphones under its Bharat series, with two handsets Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro scheduled in the coming months.
Going by pure specifications, we feel that the newly launched Xiaomi’s ‘Desh ka Smartphone’ Redmi 5A is clearly a better deal, courtesy of more RAM and higher megapixel camera to name a couple of parameters, unless battery life is the only thing you seek.
