After a substantial amount of leaks, Meizu’s new smartphone, the Meizu Pro 7 arrival to the smartphone market has now been confirmed. The Chinese tech company took to the microblogging site Weibo, to share its press invite for the smartphone’s launch event. As per the press invite, the Meizu Pro 7 will be launched in China on July 26.
Apart from the launch date, the invite also reveals that the smartphone will indeed feature the ‘unconventional’ second screen on the rear panel. Reports suggest that the screen will let users take selfies with rear cameras and play games as well. Further reports claim that the Meizu Pro 7 will feature a 5.2-inch display and it will be powered by Helio X30 processor. The phone will have dual camera arrangement with two 12-megapixel sensors from Sony and a 16-megapixel front facing shooter. The device is said to come in two RAM/storage variants- 4GB RAM+64GB storage and 6GB RAM+128GB internal storage. It could run Android 7.0 Nougat with Flyme OS atop. Further, it is rumoured to have battery capacity of either 3000mAh or 3500mAh and support Meizu’s mCharge fast charge technology.
Besides the Meizu Pro 7, a bigger version of the smartphone, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus is also expected to be unveiled on the same day. The Plus variant is said to sport a 5.7-inch display, while other specifications on the device are tipped to be similar to the base variant. Both the smartphones are expected to come with USB Type-C charging port and standard 3.5mm audio jack. As for the pricing, reports that the Meizu Pro 7 could be priced at 2,799 Yuan (around Rs. 26,600), meanwhile, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus is said to come at a cost of 3,299 Yuan (roughly Rs. 31,350) and 3,799 Yuan (roughly Rs. 36,105) for two different variants.
The Meizu Pro 7 launch event is scheduled to take place at ‘Zhuhai Opera House’ at 7:30 PM China Time (5:00 PM IST).
