LG is gearing up to launch its next flagship, LG V30 later this month at IFA event in Berlin. The company recently teased the camera, display of the upcoming smartphone. And it has now announced another important aspect which is not surprising as LG often does pre-announcements ahead of a premium smartphone launch.

While we have learned the all new LG V30 to feature a 6-inch plastic OLED FullVision display and f/1.6 aperture, the widest in a smartphone, LG has now said that UX 6.0+, company’s custom Android UI will debut on the smartphone. The ‘advanced version’ of LG’s UX is said to have been optimised to work better with the ‘immersive’ 18:9 OLED FullVision display.

Reports earlier have suggested that LG would opt for a ‘Floating Bar’ for the V30 instead of the secondary display which was found on previous V series smartphones. LG in its press release effectively confirming the reports said that upcoming flagship will indeed feature the ‘Floating Bar’. The semi-transparent on-screen bar will allow for quick access to frequently used functions. If the user is not using it, they can drag the Floating Bar off screen. Further, the V30 will feature Always-On-Display that will show the time, Quick Tools, Music Player and even photographs.

The LG V30 like the current flagship LG G6 will boast dual camera arrangement and it seems the company is really focusing on the camera hardware of the upcoming V series handset.  The phone will come with Graphy feature that will be accessible from the camera’s manual mode.

With Graphy, users can choose from among a portfolio of professional shots, each with a different style and mood or they can download photos taken by professionals from the Graphy website or mobile app and apply those metadata presets – such as white balance, shutter speed, aperture and ISO – to photos taken with the V30. Different shooting modes such as auto, grid shot, snap shot and match shot are conveniently grouped under one menu for ease of selection. GIFs can be quickly created in the Gallery menu while the Create Movie option allows for the creation of movie using photos and/or video files which can then be edited in the included Quick Video Editor,” LG wrote in its press release.

The upcoming flagship will also equip Face Recognition feature that will allow users to unlock the phone with their face. This apparently will be an always-on feature as it is said to work even if the phone’s display is off. According to LG the voice recognition on the new LG V30 will utilise a combination of user’s voice and self-generated keywords. It will be supported by Qualcomm’s Aqstic voice UI that will securely unlock the phone.

While these are official information outed by LG itself, a few reports that surfaced online suggested that a Plus variant might also be in the launch pipeline. The Plus variant is tipped to feature wireless charging support. As for the pricing, the LG V30 is expected to be priced around 800,00 KRW (roughly Rs. 44,900) while the LG V30 Plus might cost KRW 1,00,000 (roughly Rs. 56,100).

LG V30 launch event is scheduled to take place on August 31 at Maritim Hotel in Berlin at 9:00 AM CEST (12:30 PM IST).
