LG announced their line-up of 2018’s K-series smartphones ahead of MWC, which is scheduled towards the end of this month. These smartphones in question are LG K8 (2018) and LG K10( 2018). LG will showcase both the handsets at upcoming MWC event in Spain, Barcelona.
Both LG K8 and K10 (2018) will go on sale in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, shortly after MWC 2018, of course. They both have several colour options to offer such as Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Terra Gold. Not to forget, LG has officially quit the Chinese market, presumably due to a growing competition from some of the local brands such as Xiaomi and Meizu.
Specs-wise, LG K8 2018 sports a 5-inch 720p HD display with a layer of 2.5D curved glass on top. It measures 8.2mm in thickness and weighs 152g. Hence, portability shouldn’t be much of an issue here. Powering the handset is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM.
LG K8 (2018) runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and packs 16GB expandable storage, which if found insufficient can expand up to 32GB via memory card support. For photography, there’s an 8MP main camera and 5MP selfie camera. In addition to a standard set of connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2, LG provides fingerprint scanner and 2500mAh battery.
LG K10 (2018), on the other hand, has 2 more variants: LG K10 α and K10+. All of them have a 5.3-inch 720p display with a similar 2.5D curved glass. The handset is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core chip. However, K10 and K10 α feature 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Meanwhile, K10+ packs 3GB RAM and 32GB storage under the hood.
All LG K10 (2018) variants support storage expandability up to 2TB via microSD card. Similar to K8 (2018), they run Android 7.1.2 Nougat software and house an 8MP main camera as well as 5MP selfie camera. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, however, it also supports NFC, unlike K8. The LG K10 (2018) bundles a 3000mAh battery.
