Following the LG Q6 launch, K8 (2017) launched in India on Tuesday. The device has been listed on the official company website for MRP of Rs 11,000. However, according to a renowned Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the LG K8 (2017) price in India is Rs 9,999 and currently retailing in the offline market. LG hasn’t officially made any announcement with regards to the LG K8 (2017) launch in India as of reporting this. It comes with two colour options: Blue and gold.
The LG K8 (2017) is the successor to last year’s LG K8. This year’s LG K8 is undoubtedly an upgrade over its predecessor. There have been a few notable changes in terms of camera. Last year’s LG K8 launched without a fingerprint scanner. This year’s LG K8 boasts of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which sits right below the primary shooter. Design-wise, it measures 8.2mm in thickness and weighs 144g.
Specs-wise, the LG K8 (2017) sports a 5.0-inch (12.7cm) in-cell display featuring 294 ppi pixel density. The screen doesn’t offer any protection, though. Inside, there’s 1.25GHz quad-core SoC bundled with a Mali GPU for graphics. Although LG hasn’t revealed the exact chipset details, an entry-level MediaTek processor must be powering the smartphone similar to its predecessor.

Moving on, the dual-SIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is highly surprising. It consists of 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, out of which 11.7GB is user-available. The storage is further expandable up to 200GB using a microSD card support. As for optics, the LG K8 (2017) houses a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
