LG today expanded its K-series smartphones lineup with a new affordable LG K7i at the India Mobile Congress 2017 in New Delhi. LG K7i has been priced at Rs 7,990 and will be available across retail outlets. The unique feature of LG K7i has to be something called ‘Mosquito Away Technology,’ which according to the company once activated keeps mosquitoes away. However, we’re are unable figure out how does this feature work at the time of writing this.
As far as specifications of LG K7i are concerned, it sports a 5-inch On-Cell display. So, we are assuming that using it in one hand shouldn’t be much of a problem. However, since we haven’t used the phone ourselves as of writing this, we’d like to hold our opinions. Inside, there’s a quad-core processor, but LG hasn’t revealed much with regards to its exact chipset. Besides the SoC, it packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
Design-wise, it measures 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 138g. The phone surprisingly runs Android Marshmallow out of the back and consists of a 2,500mAh battery. As for connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and micro-USB 2.0 port. It comes in a single brown colour option. As for photography, LG K7i houses an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
Commenting on the launch, LG India’s Amit Gujral, had this to say:
“LG has always been at the forefront of unique innovations. With this launch, LG is bringing the mosquito away technology closer to the consumers in the form of a mobile device which can be an integral part of their daily lives.”
