Lenovo just marked two years since the first Lenovo K-series smartphone went on sale on Flipkart. As part of the celebration, the e-commerce company is hosting a limited period sale on the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note smartphone, which is now available for Rs 3,000 off. The smartphone was originally retailing for Rs 12,499. The sale is active on Flipkart starting today (4 July 2017) and will last until midnight. To recall, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note was originally announced in August 2016.
In terms of specifications, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note offers a 5.5-inch display, featuring 1,920 x 1,080 pixels Full HD resolution and 401 PPI pixel density. The phone gets its power from MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core SoC, ticking at 1.8GHz. In order to handle the graphics, it incorporates a Mali T860 GPU. Although this phone comes in two variants: 3GB/4GB of RAM with 32GB of expandable storage, the offer is only valid on the 4GB RAM variant.
The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and in case you are hoping it to receive Android Nougat anytime soon, that is not going to happen. In fact the company confirmed a few months ago that it will not roll out Android Nougat update on the Vibe K5 Note.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is a dual-SIM handset, which lacks a dedicated memory card slot. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. On the camera front, it houses 13-megapixel rear shooter with dual-tone LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The device packs in a 3,500mAh battery in addition to standard set of connectivity of such as VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1.
Although this may seem exciting to some extent, one should not forget that this is still a year-old phone with year-old specifications. Hence, if you want to invest in a new phone, you will need to set your priorities straight and make a decision accordingly.
