Lenovo today announced that both the Lenovo K6 Note and the Lenovo K6 Power will be updated to Google’s latest mobile operating system Android 7.0 Nougat. In the press note, the company said that they will be updating both the smartphones at once via an OTA update in India.
The press release also mentioned that with this update, they will add the much-appreciated Doze mode in both the smartphones. This will allow you to save battery along with internet data as it will reduce data syncing, and background apps. The Android 7.0 Nougat update will also be adding multi-window support, Data Saver, Upgraded notifications and Quick app switch. You will now be able to change the size of the display to suit your needs like when you are reading and need to use only 1/3rd of the screen.

Lenovo had launched both the K6 Power and the K6 Note in December 2016 running on Android 6.0 with the Vibe Pure UI skin. The Lenovo K6 Power was the company’s big battery offering as they said it can give you 649 hours of standby time. The Lenovo K6 Power came in two variants – 3GB RAM, 4GB RAM along with 32GB of internal storage priced at Rs. 9,999, Rs. 10,999 respectively.
The Lenovo K6 Note is also offered in 3GB and 4GB RAM, 32GB Internal Storage variants priced at 13,999, 15,999 respectively. Both the K6 Power and the K6 Note sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC.
With Doze mode coming to the Lenovo K6 Power and K6 Note, users of the device can expect even better battery life out of both the phones. Hopefully, the added features of the new OS wont slow the phones down. If you’ve got the update, share your experience with us in the comments below.
