Earlier this month, Lenovo introduced the 7th iteration of it K-series, the Lenovo K8 Note at a competitive price of Rs. 12,999 in the Indian market. The company is now preparing to launch another smartphone under its new K8 series, the Lenovo K8 Plus.

Lenovo on Tuesday teased the launch of its upcoming smartphone on its official India Twitter handle with the hashtag “KraveForMore”.  The teaser video shared by the company showed a fair glimpse of the K8 Plus with a dedicated music button and a slot on the left side of the device. Flipkart also joining the teaser trail today confirmed that the smartphone will be exclusive to the e-retail site and it will launch on September 6.

Commenting on the partnership with Lenovo, Ayyappan Rajagopal, Senior Director – Smartphones at Flipkart, said, “Flipkart has been instrumental in building the Lenovo brand in India – having sold more than 7mn Lenovo branded mobile phones in the last 2.5 years. The new exclusive K8 Plus will make the latest technology available to customers at competitive pricing.”

Notably, ahead of the Lenovo K8 Note India launch, the K8 Plus surfaced on the mobile benchmark site, Geekbench. As per the listing, the upcoming K8 smartphone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. While Lenovo has decided to ditch its Vibe Pure UI and replace with stock Android on all future smartphones, the K8 Plus is expected to pack the same. Apparently, the smartphone might run MediaTek Helio P25 chipset with 3GB RAM as per the Geekbench listing. Other details are scarce as of now, however the K8 Plus is expected to be a mid-range smartphone.
