It is no longer a secret that Lenovo has geared up to launch Lenovo K8 Note in India next week on August 9. Meanwhile, we have come across a new Geekbench listing, suggesting yet another device dubbed Lenovo K8 Plus is underway. Last year, Lenovo announced K5 Plus months after unveiling K5 and K5 Note. Surprisingly, Lenovo K6 Plus was nowhere to be seen after the company refreshed its K-series lineup with K6, K6 Note, and K6 Power late last year. Lenovo K8 Plus, on the other hand, could embark a different story altogether.
According to listing on a benchmarking website Geekbench, Lenovo K8 Plus runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. It is hardly surprising given that Lenovo has decided to do away with its Vibe Pure UI and offer stock Android experience on all future phones including K8 Note. Lenovo K8 Plus apparently runs MediaTek Helio P25 (MT6757CD) SoC, Mali-T880 GPU, and 3GB of RAM under the hood. That aside, all other details including its display, storage, or camera specifications are secret.
Lenovo K8 Note, on the other hand, will be the company’s first device to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Lenovo K8 Note’s Geekbench listing suggests it embraces MediaTek Helio-X20 deca-core (MT6797) SoC under the hood besides Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. It further denotes Lenovo K8 Note has two RAM options to offer: 3GB and 4GB. Lenovo K8 will be available to purchase exclusively via Amazon India.
In other news, Lenovo recently started rolling out Android Nougat software update to last year’s K6 Note and K6 Power. Both the devices announced initially with Lenovo’s Vibe Pure UI skin on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
