Lenovo India recently posted a video teaser on its social media channel the imminent launch of a new smartphone, presumably the K7 Note in India. Although the details about the phone are scarce, the Chinese OEM is boasting of the “KillerNote,” which aims to “make ordinary performance a thing of the past.
While the supposed K7 Note is expected to arrive anytime soon, specifications of a new Lenovo device have been spotted on the benchmarking site Geekbench. Interestingly, the smartphone is listed under the moniker K8 Note for two possible reasons: Lenovo could follow OnePlus and skip the number 7. Secondly, Lenovo could announce K8 Note shortly after K7 Note, similar to how K5 Note was unveiled shortly after K4 note earlier in 2016.
As per the listing, the K8 Note comes with a deca-core Helio X20 (MT6797) chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The device is listed with a single core of 1659 and a multi-core score of 4844. Reports also speculate that there could another variant of this upcoming K Note handset that might utilise a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Notably, the teaser video posted on the Lenovo’s official Facebook page revealed three smartphones performance.
In the teaser video, one of the devices equips Snapdragon 430 SoC and whereas the second smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor. The third smartphone is assumed to integrate a better processor, likely Qualcomm’s new mobile platform Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 chipset. It should be noted that these are just speculations which should be taken with a grain of salt.
The K Note series is known for offering phones that last longer. The upcoming K Note device is expected to carry a big battery. Lenovo has not revealed any other details with regards to its launch timeline. However, given that Lenovo has already started teasing the upcoming #KillerNote, the unveiling might not be that far.
