Lava today launched a new entry-level budget smartphone dubbed Lava Z60 in the Indian market. The device has been priced affordably at Rs 6,499 and comes with two colour options: Black and Gold. Interestingly enough, Lava Z60 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and features software-driven ‘Bokeh Mode’ for both front and rear cameras, which is ideally achieved by means of dual camera lenses. The idea behind offering Bokeh Mode is to let users blur the background so that images end up looking better.

Specs-wise, Lava Z60 sports a 5-inch FWVGA display featuring 854 x 480 pixels resolution, resulting in 196 PPI pixel density. Powering the device is a 1.1GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. As for photography, it houses a 5-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel secondary shooter with front flash for selfies and video calls. Lava Z60 comes with 16GB of internal storage. However, we are not sure whether the storage is expandable at the time of writing this.

Design-wise, Lava Z60 flaunts unibody measuring 9.1mm in thickness and weighs 149 grams. As for connectivity, the device supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone packs a 2,500mAh battery under the hood. It is expected to be available across both offline and online channels. However, we were unable to find it selling on Amazon and Flipkart at the time of writing this.

In other news, Vodafone is offering a complete cash back on Lava feature phones. The offer is valid for both new and existing Vodafone customers until October 31.
