Reliance Jio has previously stopped the pre-registration of the JioPhone due to unknown reasons. Today, a report from India Today has surfaced stating that the pre-booking for the JioPhone will continue in 3 – 4 days. The report also states that the deliveries for the device will be delayed due to heavy demand. India Today representatives talked to various Jio retailers enquiring about the JioPhone. The retailers told them that the company was previously going to start the sale of the device from the first week of September, however, due to some delay in the backend, they will start the sale a little late.

JioPhone is now expected to arrive between September 10 and 15, all the customers who were able to pre-book the device before Reliance Jio stopped accepting pre-bookings can check their order status by sending a message to 18008908900. The company will be providing the devices on a first come first serve basis.

During the time period that the company was pre-booking the phone, they received more three million registrations for purchasing the device through its online methods. The number of offline registration is yet to be disclosed as it is still being counted. Various customers trying to book the 4G VoLTE enabled feature phone online faced a lot of glitches on the company site and the MyJio application. Currently, analysts expect that the company will sell more than 40 million devices by the end of this year.

This report should be taken with a pinch of salt as Reliance Jio hasn’t officially said anything, and this report is only based on talks with Reliance Jio retailers.
