    • Dhan Dhana Dhan offer not applicable
    • No new surprises to be expected

Jio ‘Summer Surprise Offer’, which was announced on 31 March 2017, is now coming to an end. Users who got a recharge under this offer will soon have to start paying for regular recharges that get them stipulated amount of validity. Essentially what this means is that your Reliance Jio service will now require you to start paying the monthly tariff. The company offers a number of plans, however, the Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 plans are the most lucrative, offering adequate amounts of data and validity.

If you are not sure on which plan you are currently on, and when it expires, Here is how you can check the details.

  • Download the MyJio app from App Store on iOS or Play Store on Android.
  • Open the app and sign in using your details or the ‘Sign in with SIM’ option.
  • Click on the three-line icon on the top-left corner

Now that the Summer Surprise offer is about to expire, users need to opt for recharges that get them 100 SMS per day and unlimited data with 1GB or 2GB FUP per day for Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 respectively with a validity of 28days. However, those who get a Jio sim now will be offered the same benefits for Rs. 309/Rs. 509 under the ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ offer.  These new users will get 84 days validity, which is roughly three months instead of 28 days. Keep in mind, if you availed the ‘Summer Surprise’ offer already, the 84day validity offer won’t be applicable to you. The Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer can only be availed by new users.

In September 2016, Jio was made available to everyone using a 4G handset and was totally free of cost. One just had to get a Reliance Jio Sim from a store, put it inside a 4G handset and then enjoy free data and voice calls. Fast forward to March, Jio introduced Prime Membership which was available just for Rs.99 and promised to bring data and voice at unbelievable rates. The Jio summer surprise offer was cancelled by TRAI due to a violation of rules pertaining to offers. This forced Relaince Jio to shut down the offer within a few days. Today, people are enjoying the promises made by Jio by paying as low as Rs.3 per gigabyte of data under the now called ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ offer.

We cannot expect any other surprising offer by Jio anytime soon as TRAI has set limits to how many plans a carrier network can offer in a specified period of time.
