  3. Jio offering up to 30GB free additional 4G data to Xiaomi users, here’s how to get it

Reliance Jio, as part of the partner offers, is providing up to 30GB of free additional 4G data to all Xiaomi users (at least that’s how Jio is advertising the offer on its official website). Since not a lot of existing Xiaomi users know how to benefit from this offer, we got in touch with Jio to know customer to know more about it.

What’s the eligibility criteria to avail this offer?

Make sure that your Xiaomi phone is purchased in India. Since we’re using a Xiaomi Mi 5S that is imported from China, we are not eligible for this offer. Jio customer care can identify user’s IMEI number and also what phone he/she is using. So, in case you are not sure whether you are eligible for this offer, all you can do is call Jio customer care and find out.

How to get up to 30GB free additional data?

If you’ve got a valid purchase, you have to recharge a minimum Rs 309 plan. Once Jio authenticates the purchase with your phone’s IMEI, it will offer you 5GB free additional data. The offer is valid for first 6 recharges, so eventually, you’ll end up getting 30GB of additional data. As per Jio care, the only requirement is that your handset should be 4G-enabled, no matter when you purchased it as long as unless it was purchased outside India.

Xiaomi is currently selling these 4G-enabled handsets in India: Xiaomi Redmi 3S+, Redmi 4A (Review), Redmi 4 (Review), Redmi Note 4 (Review), Mi 5, Mi Max 2, and Mi A1 (camera samples, first impressions). In other news, Xiaomi today launched Mi Mix 2 (camera samples, first impressions) in India which comes at the price of Rs 35,999. So, it will also be eligible for the offer once it goes on sale in the coming weeks.
