Sony has released a new teaser ahead of their February 26 event scheduled for next week at MWC 2018. In a short 23-second clip, Sony showed a hand and a series of wavy lines coming down onto it. That slowly turns into a curvy shape and disappears eventually. While the teaser itself doesn’t say much, the rumour mill seems to have jumped the gun as usual. From what we have heard since then, Sony may announce a curved smartphone during the event.

In September last year, Sony India MD told indianexpress.com they are planning to launch a new generation of products. These products are expected with a completely new design this time around. Now since we are merely a week away from the official unveiling, let’s wait and watch what the company is up to this year.

Meanwhile, Sony is expected to refresh their flagship lineup next week with the Xperia XZ2. A couple of other phones to accompany may be XZ2 Pro and XZ2 Compact. Out of the three, the Xperia XZ2 Pro might align with the bezel-less trend. It may have a bigger 5.7-inch 4K and OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the handset might be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.

In other news, Sony recently announced the Xperia L2 in the Indian market. The handset carries all the entry-level specs. However, it costs a whopping Rs 19,900, leaving us all wondering about its target audience. Stay tuned with us for a continuous coverage about MWC 2018!
