Apple during WWDC 2017 had promised everyone to release the public beta of iOS 11 by the end of June. They have just delivered on that promise by releasing the public beta to anyone with a supported iOS device. Apple has said that the iOS 11 is supported on the iPhone 5S or above, fifth generation iPad or newer, iPad Mini 2 or above, iPad Air 1 and 2 and you can also install it on a sixth generation iPod Touch.
With the new iOS 11 public beta, users can experience new features like customizable Control Center, the one-handed keyboard, the new App Store, Do Not Disturb While Driving mode and Dark Mode on their compatible Apple devices. Along with the new features, the iPhone 7 Plus will also be getting improved support for its Portrait Mode.
Here’s how you can get the iOS 11 Public Beta
If you want to use Apple’s latest mobile operating system, you will need to follow the steps that we have mentioned below. Before you go ahead and get onto the beta program, we must warn you that you do so at your own risks. Public betas could be buggy and result in reduced efficiency and functionality. We strongly recommend waiting for a week or so for reviews to come out before jumping onto the bandwagon. However, if you absolutely must experience the latest version of iOS, here’s what you do.
Though, we would caution you against installing the beta on your primary device, if you absolutely must go through route, please ensure you take a backup of your device. We have a handy guide on how to backup your iOS data. Do share your experience with iOS 11 beta with us in the comments.
