Homegrown smartphone maker Intex today expanded its entry-level portfolio with a new virtual reality-enabled smartphone. The device in question is Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ which is retailing exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 5,799. Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ comes with a VR headset and 3D content pre-installed on the device. Some other preloaded features and services include QR Code scanner in addition to Xender that allows file transfer (contacts, photos, SMS) via Bluetooth. It also comes preloaded with Gaana for streaming music online.
As the name suggests, Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ sports a 5.5 inch HD (1,280 x 720) IPS display resulting in 267 ppi pixel density. Design-wise, it features a plastic unibody with a textured finish, measuring 10.3mm in thickness and weighs 177g. Powering the device is a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and 2GB of RAM. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Nougat out of the box and offers 16GB of expandable storage.

In terms of photography, Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ houses an 8MP main camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera with front flash. The 4G VoLTE-enabled phone packs a 2,800mAh battery under the hood.
