  3. Idea launches Validity Accumulation feature: Here’s How it works

Highlights

    • Idea pre-paid users can now buy a plan multiple times and use them later on
    • This feature was first introduced by Reliance Jio in terms of My Vouchers

Idea Cellular’s pre-paid users get yet another feature which called Validity Accumulation. What this does is, it allows users to pay in advance for long-validity packs and activate them at a later date. It is similar to how Reliance Jio’s My Vouchers work. With this new feature, Idea users can buy a plan multiple times in advance and use it at a later date.

Recently, Idea launched a plan of Rs 398 in which users would get 1GB of data daily, with unlimited calls, free roaming and 100 SMSes per day for 70 days. So if a user were to purchase the Rs 398 pack twice, they would end up getting all these benefits for a total of 140 days. If they get the same plan thrice, they would end up getting the benefits for 210 days in total. Even if the provider was to change the plan or introduce a new plan replacing this one, the user would still be able to reap the benefits of this plan. Additionally, users can select when they want to activate the extra plans they bought.

The company is yet to reveal if it will be valid for all plans or just a handful of them. As soon as we get to know more about it we will update this story. Additionally, users won’t be offered any additional discounts when opting for multiple recharges at once.

This move from the telecom service provider seems to be one which will help them retain their subscribers by having them invested in a plan of their choice for a longer duration.
