Huawei on Monday launched the Huawei Mate Pro with the generic version, Mate 10 alongside at an event in Munich, Germany. The phone boasts a nearly bezel-less FullView display with 81.61 screen-to-body-ratio.
Like the Mate 10, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is accompanied by homegrown HiSilicon 970 SoC. The chipset features neural-network processor unit (NPU) which designed to handle AI and deep learning tasks. The chipset is claimed to support AI features including object recognition functionality, automatically select the focal point and instantly translate text, conversation and images in more than 50 languages.
It has a 3D glass design, but unlike the base variant, the Mate 10 Pro has IP67 rated water and dust resistant body. The phone features a 6-inch tall full HD+ 18:9 FullView display with 1080×2160 pixel resolution. It is fueled by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor. Huawei has announced the Mate 10 Pro with RAM/storage options- 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage and 4GB RAM+64GB native storage. The onboard storage is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The hybrid dual-SIM Mate 10 Pro runs EMUI 8.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo.
As for the optics, it sports Leica dual-lens camera with a 20-megapixel primary sensor for monochrome and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor for RGB. The dual Leica Summilux H-lenses comes with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF CAF, laser autofocus, depth autofocus, optical image stabilisation (OIS) and 4K video recording capability. Up front, it has an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Mate 10 Pro carries a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor located below the dual camera. While the Mate 10 comes with a 3.5mm jack for headphone, Huawei has ditched the audio jack on the Mate 10 Pro. However, the device comes with Hi-res audio playback.
The phone has a battery backup of 4000mAh and comes with SuperCharge technology. Connectivity options on the phone include- 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for charging.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro will be available in four colour options- Titanium Grey, Midnight Blue, Mocha Brown and Pink. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Mate 10 Pro has been tagged a price of €799 (around Rs. 61, 077) for the 6GB RAM model. Price for the 4GB RAM version has not been announced. The handset is said to be available in mid-November.
