Huawei just announced three new smartphones – Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Porsche Design at an event in Germany. The Mate 10 Porsche Design comes with similar specifications as in the Mate 10 Pro, however, the main USP of the device is that the smartphone is a limited edition product which was developed by Huawei in collaboration with Porsche Design. The Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design changes the default colour scheme and comes in only deep black colour. Interestingly, the device looks similar to the Mate 10 Pro just with a sleeker and more glossy design. It has a few subtle changes that make the device looks much more premium.
As for the specifications, the device comes with a 6.0-inch FullView display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. It is powered by Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 970 processor paired with Mali G72 MP12 GPU. It comes with 6GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage. It comes with IP67 dust and water resistant rating and runs on Google’s Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 skin on top. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
As for the camera, the device features a dual camera setup on the back – 20-megapixel Monochrome + 12-megapixel RGB sensor. Both the lenses come with a f/1.6 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation on the RGB sensor, BSI CMOS, dual LED flash, PDAF, CAF, Laser focus, depth autofocus, 2x hybrid zoom and 4K video support. On the front, the device comes with an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0 along with a fixed focus.
For its Mate 10 Porsche Design smartphone, Huawei has tagged a premium price of €1,395 (approximately Rs, 1,06,625) which we feel is a good price for a limited edition smartphone. Interestingly, the Mate 9 Porsche Design smartphone is already sold out. The device will be available in 20 countries including UK, UAE, Qatar, Singapore, a few Middle East and Asian countries starting mid-November.
