Huawei’s unlocked device Honor 8 is all set to get OS upgrade in February next year. According to a report from Android Authority, Huawei has sent out notices to the media outlets notifying that the Honor 8 is scheduled to get its OS upgrade to Android Nougat sometime in February, 2017. The smartphone will also get the EMUI 5.0 upgrade. As the new version is likely to bring some new features along with it, the device will feature machine learning algorithm. Huawei claims that the machine learning capability will dynamically optimize processing resources by analyzing the user’s behaviour over time and prioritizing frequently used apps.
The EMUI 5.0 will also allow the smartphone to run different profiles, enabling the user to switch from work to personal profile swiftly. Other features that will come with this version are improved security, intelligent power management system that will have numerous power saving modes to help extend the Honor 8’s battery life.
The flagship smartphone which was launched in October this year comes for a price of Rs. 29,999. The Honor 8 features a 5.2inch Full HD (11920×1080 resolution) LTPS LCD display with 423pixel density. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 and is packed with a Kirin 950 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with Mali-T880 GPU. The variant which is launched in India comes with a 4GB RAM variant and 32GB on-board storage which is expandable upto 128GB via microSD. The device sports a 2.5D glass protection on both front and rear side of the body. The rear camera highlight two 12megapixel dual sensors with f/2.2 aperture, laser focus and dual LED tone flash. The 8megapixel camera at the front features panoramic shot for selfie. It comes with f/2.4 aperture and 1080p video recording. The phone has a battery back-up of 3000mAh.
