HTC has announced that its flagship model, the HTC U11 in India will receive Android Oreo update from today, Jan 30th. The company confirmed the information via its official India Twitter handle.

HTC U11 users in India will receive the latest Android OS as an OTA (over-the-air) update. HTC already rolled the Android Oreo update for users in the US in November last year. The company earlier promised that more devices will receive the latest OS version including the recently launched HTC U11 Life (HTC Sense version) and the HTC U Ultra, HTC 10.

Coming back to the premium HTC U11, with the latest Oreo update, users will be able to experience some of exciting Oreo features like PiP (picture-in-picture) mode, Autofill for passwords, Notification dots that show if a particular app has pending notifications, over 60 new emojis, an array of colour for apps and much more.

To recap, the HTC U11 (Review) made its way to India in June last year at a launch price of Rs 51,990. The smartphone offered the squeezing feature ‘Edge Sense’ that allows performing certain functions. The phone flaunts glossy back panel that shines different shades when reflected to light. It features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixel resolution) Super LCD display, Snapdragon 835 chip with either 4GB RAM/64GB storage or 6GB RAM/128GB native storage options. The HTC U11 packs 12MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera. It has a battery backup of 3000mAh.
