HTC has sent out save the date invites for a press event that will be held on November 2. The event invite doesn’t state which smartphone the company will be launching, however, there is a big ‘U’, which points to the fact that the company will be launching a device which will be expanding its ‘U’ lineup. Previously there have been reports pointing towards HTC launching two devices pretty soon, the U11 Plus and the Android One variant of the U11. However, it is currently unknown which device the company will end up launching.
The U11 Plus is a much more likely candidate as it recently showed up on Geekbench, alongside various leaks and reports pointing to the launch being held on November 2. The device will first be launched in the US and there is no word as to if it will make it to India.
As per the Geekbench listing, the alleged U11 Plus will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and will run on Google’s latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Some reports also suggested that there will also be a high-end model of the device which will come with 8GB of RAM.
If some past reports and rumours are to be believed the company might launch the Android One version of the U11 also like Xioami and Motorola. However, the company hasn’t said anything yet, so we will have to wait and see what the company has in store for us on November 2.
