After a series of leaks and rumours, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally taken the curtains off its flagship smartphone, the Honor V10. The all-new V series Honor smartphone made its debut at an event in China. Honor has announced the V10 in three RAM/storage versions- 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage and a higher storage version packing 6GB RAM/128GB native storage.

As rumoured, the Honor V10 flaunts a tall 5.99-inch FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It has 2160 x 1080 pixels stretched across a narrow bezel display. After Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the V10 is the second phone from the company to feature Huawei’s flagship processor, HiSilicon Kirin 970. The SoC is baked using a 10nm architecture. The chipset features neural-network processor unit (NPU) which designed to handle AI and deep learning tasks.

On the software front, the Honor V10 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo with Emotion UI 8.0 on top. As for the optics, it has dual rear camera array packing a 16MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor with PDAF and dual LED flash. The cameras have AI engine that brings Real-Time Scene object recognition functionality and automatically select the focal point. At the front, it has a 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera has selfie unlock feature as well.

The Honor V10 has a battery capacity of 3750mAh and comes with Super Charge fast charging technology that is claimed to wake the device and charge up to 50 per cent in half an hour. Connectivity options on the V10 include – hybrid dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB-Type C port. The phone comes with a rear fingerprint sensor.

Honor has offered four colour schemes with the new Honor V10 handset that include – Black, Aurora Blue, Gold and Red. As for the pricing, the 4GB RAM version is priced at CNY 2699 (around Rs 26,350) while the 6GB RAM/64GB storage version will cost CNY 2999 (roughly Rs 29,280) and the 6GB RAM/128GB model tags a price of CNY 3499 (around Rs 34,165). The phone is already up for order in China and it will be released in the country on December 5. A recent IANS report has suggested that the new Honor flagship smartphone may arrive in India in January 2018.
