Previously, the Face Unlock feature would hide the notifications displayed on the screen and would make them accessible only when it would detect the face of the user. To unlock the device, the user would then have to rely on their password or fingerprint. Now, with this update, the Face Unlock feature will unlock the device when it detects the user’s face similar to the OnePlus 5T and Apple iPhone X.

It will also detect if the user is not looking at the display and lock the device. Additionally, this feature will also detect the position of the user’s face and adjust the display’s orientation accordingly. For additional security, Honor has also integrated a feature when the user’s eyes are closed, the device won’t open.
