Honor has finally launched the budget Honor Bee successor – the Honor Bee 2 – in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 7,499, which is about Rs. 2,500 extra from its two year old predecessor Honor Bee that was launched in 2015 for Rs. 4,999.
What has changed this time around is the offline sale model. Honor Bee 2 unlike the predecessor will now be available at offline stores.
But what hasn’t changed from Bee to Bee 2 is the 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 850 pixels) display. The handset is powered by an unknown 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with same 1GB of RAM and same 8GB of internal storage. The microSD card option lets expansion up to another 32GB.
The rear camera has come down from 8-megapixel to 5-megapixel shooter, whereas the front 2-megapixel camera is same as Honor Bee. Since the 4G network is a buzz now, the Honor Bee 2 also supports dual-SIM 4G VoLTE. The handset packs a 2100mAh removable battery. It runs dated Android 5.1 Lollipop with company’s Emotion UI 3.1 on top.
There is an additional ‘Smart Key’ on the left edge of the phone which can be assigned to trigger flashlight or any other application. Honor has also put in a circular ‘Rainbow Light’ around the camera, which lights up for all notifications or for an incoming call.
“We are very excited to introduce the Honor Bee 2 in India through our vast offline channel and are confident that it will be a strong performer in the lower mid-level segment. The Honor Bee 2 offers best in class user experience, beautiful design and a great mix of hardware and software will be an exceptional choice for consumers in the mid segment market in India,” said P Sanjeev, Vice President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group.
The Honor Bee 2 comes at Rs. 7,499 and will be available through all offline retail channels. It comes in three colour options – Black, Gold, and White. Honor is offering 15-months service warranty on the handset as well.
