Honor 8 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is now available at Rs 3,000 discount in India. It was originally priced at Rs 29,999, but ahead of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launch in India, its price has been slashed to Rs 26,999. It’s not at all surprising since Xiaomi’s latest flagship Mi Mix 2 with bezel-less design, ceramic unibody, and top of the line specifications has been announced at the price of Rs 35,999. As we’ve also mentioned in our previous articles, Honor 8 Pro has an edge OnePlus 5 (Review) since the latter lacks a storage expansion.
The Honor 8 Pro sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display along with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection layered on top. Inside is a 2.4GHz Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor. The dual-SIM phone runs Emotion UI 5.1 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It houses a dual rear camera similar to recently launched Honor 9i and last year’s Honor 8 (Review).
Up front, Honor 8 Pro houses an 8MP front shooter for selfies. In terms of connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Type-C USB 2.0, microSD, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The standard set of sensors includes Hall sensor, Infrared, Proximity, Ambient Light, Digital Compass, Gravity, and Gyroscope. Honor 8 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery under the hood. It also supports Vulcan API for better 3D and graphics rendering.
Design-wise, Honor 8 Pro boasts of a unibody metal design. The phone measures 6.97 mm in thickness, which undoubtedly falls on the slimmer side. Furthermore, it weighs 184 g, which is considerable given that a 4,000mAh battery is packed inside the smartphone. Honor has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that sits right below the dual camera unit.
