Honor has been a silent player in the Indian market for quite some time, but the company is expecting to make some serious noise with their latest smartphone, the Honor 8 Pro. What is being referred to as the smartphone to give the OnePlus 5 stiff competition, the Honor 8 Pro comes packed to the brim with top-of-the-line specifications and most notably, a dual camera setup. With the smartphone slated for a 6 July launch, it would seem that the price of the Honor 8 Pro has already leaked, giving us a glimpse of one more reason why the OnePlus 5 has a reason to worry. According to a post by Rajiv Makhni for HT Brunch, the Honor 8 Pro (6GB RAM, 64GB storage) variant is said to be priced at Rs. 29,999.
For the price, what you get is an octa-core Kirin 960 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The Kirin 960 is the flagship processor from the Huawei owned company, HiSilicon. There’s also a 5.7 inch Quad HD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The most enticing feature perhaps, about the phone, is the dual camera setup on the back. There are twin 12 MP cameras on the back, with one sensor shooting in RGB colour while the other shooting exclusively in monochrome. The phone is backed by a 4000mAh battery which Honor claims should last you two whole days.
On paper, the Honor 8 Pro is an extremely powerful and lucrative device and if the price of Rs. 29,999 does end up being true, it is safe to assume that OnePlus will have serious competition on their hands. The Honor 8 Pro is slated to launch in India on 6 July 2017 at an event being hosted by the company in New Delhi.
