Honor 8 Lite with Android 7.0 Nougat, 4GB RAM and Octa-Core processor launched at Rs. 17,999

The Honor 8 Lite features same glass & metal design as the good looking Honor 8, but with one lesser camera at the back.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally launched the Honor 8 Lite in India. The lighter version of Honor 8 was first launched in Finland in February, although that variant had 3GB of RAM, but India variant comes with 4GB RAM instead.

The Honor 8 Lite boasts of same good looking design as the Honor 8, except the back panel has one lesser camera. The highlight of the Honor 8 was its dual-rear 12-megapixel camera setup, but the 8 Lite has only one 12-megapixel camera with single LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.

Just like the Honor 8, the Honor 8 Lite also features a 5.2-inch full-HD LTPS (1080 x 1920 pixels) display. The processor is different and it is instead a mid-range SoC from Huawei – the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Users will have expandability option through though hybrid SIM slot, which in slot 2 can accommodate microSD card up to 128GB.

The Honor 8 Lite will run Android 7.0 Nougat with company’s latest Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 out-of-the-box. The same firmware update will also be pushed to other Huawei and Honor-branded smartphones gradually, says company.

As we’ve already mentioned above, the Honor 8 Lite sports one 12-megapixel rear camera instead of two cameras like Honor 8, but the front camera is same 8-megapixel selfie camera with a 77-degree wide-angle lens. The handset is backed by same 3000mAh battery as the Honor 8 and doesn’t support fast charging, however it ships with a 5V/1A charger. Also, the company says that ‘the Smart Power 5.0 system optimizes battery consumption’ meaning your phone never lets you down.

The Honor 8 Lite will be available in Premium Black colour initially, followed by blue colour later this month. The device is priced at Rs. 17,999 and will be available for purchase from May 12 across all Honor partner stores in India. Honor is also providing 15 month service warranty along with Honor’s signature door pick-up and drop service for all Honor 8 Lite buyers.
