Huawei’s sub-terminal Honor on Tuesday launched its latest smartphone, the Honor 7X at an event in China. The successor to last year’s Honor 6X, the new Honor handset has been priced starting at 1,299 yuan (around Rs 12,890). The smartphone will be available for purchase in its home country from October 17. The pre-order for the Honor 7X starts today.
Coming to the specifications, the Honor 7X boasts a tall 5.93-inch display with 2160×1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen panel has a 2.5D arc glass protection on top. Design-wise, it carries a metal unibody with minimal bezels on both sides at the front. The power button and volume rockers are pitched at the right side of the device. The circular fingerprint sensor is placed at the centre of the back panel below the primary camera modules. It’s powered by an eight-core Kirin 659 processor coupled with Mali-T830 GPU for graphics. As for the storage, it offers 4GB of RAM paired with three expandable storage options: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. On the software front, the Honor 7X runs the company’s proprietary Emotion UI 5.1 based Android Nougat OS.
In terms of imaging, the smartphone houses dual rear camera array having a 16MP primary sensor with LED flash and 2MP secondary sensor. At the front, it gets an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. The dual-SIM (hybrid) Honor 7X offers storage expansion of up to 256GB using microSD card. The phone packs a 3,340mAh battery. The phone measures a dimension of 156.5 x 75.3 x 7.6mm and weighs 165 gram. Connectivity options on the phone include-4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and GLONASS
The Honor 7X has been priced starting at 1,299 yuan (roughly Rs 12,890) for the 32GB model. The 64GB variant has been tagged a price of 1,699 yuan (around Rs. 16,850) while the 128GB version will come for a cost of 1,999 yuan (approximately Rs 19,799). The Honor 7X will be available in three colour schemes- Gold, Aurora Blue and Black. As far as availability is concerned, the successor to the Honor 6X (Review) is expected to hit the shelves in India by the end of this year or early January.
