Huawei’s terminal brand Honor unwrapped its new budget device the Honor V9 Play yesterday in China. The V9 Play however, was not the only phone that was unveiled at the smartphone launch event, the company also introduced even a cheaper model called Honor 6 Play.
The affordable Honor 6 Play is priced at CNY 599 which roughly translates for an Indian price of Rs. 5,900. The smartphone will be made available for purchase from Thursday, September 7.
Specifications wise, the Honor 6 Play features a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with Mali-T720 GPU. It offers 2gigabytes of RAM and 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on EMUI 4.1 skin.
In terms of design, the handset comes with a textured back cover. The power button and volume keys are located on the right side of the device. At the back, it has a circular camera module with LED flash and Honor branding beneath the rear camera. In addition, the phone also has a separate key on the left side which is said to enable users launch apps for press, double press and press & hold gesture.
As for the optics, the Honor 6 Play sports an 8-megapixel autofocus primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. At the front, it offers a 5MP camera with soft LED flash, f/2.4 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. The device supports dual-SIM and has a battery backup of 3020mAh. Connectivity options on the phone include- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G VoLTE, FM Radio and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include- ambient light sensor, accelerometer and proximity sensor. The Honor 6 Play will be made available in two colour schemes- White and Gold.
