HMD Global the parent company of Nokia, the mobile manufacturer today announced that the Nokia 5 smartphone will now be available in a 3GB RAM variant. Initially, the Nokia 5 was only available in a 2GB RAM variant which cost Rs. 12,499. The 3GB RAM variant of the smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting November 7, after a week the company will make the device available in the offline market. The device has been priced at Rs. 13,499. The customers who purchase the smartphone from Flipkart will be eligible for the Jio-Nokia Additional Data offer, under which they will get 5GB of additional 4G data on every recharge of Rs. 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till August 31, 2018.
The Nokia 5 3GB variant will be available in two colour options – Matte Black and Tempered Blue. Whereas, the 2GB RAM variant was originally launched in Copper and Silver colour variants additionally.
As for the specifications, the Nokia 5 3GB sports a 5.2-inch 720p HD display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. All of this is backed by a non-removable 3,000mAh battery and it runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system which will be soon updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, says the company.
As for the camera, the Nokia 5 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with Phase Detection Autofocus, along with a dual LED flash. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, micro-USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
