HMD Global the parent company of Nokia today announced in a press release that their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arto Nummela has resigned from the company. This resignation is effective immediately and is with mutual consent of Mr. Nummela and HMD Global’s Board of Directors. However, the reason behind the resignation remains unknown. Sam Chin, Chairman of HMD Global thanked Arto Nummela for his contributions to the company and wished him luck in his future endeavours.

HMD Global has now appointed its current President Mr. Florian Seiche as its acting CEO, effective immediately. Previously Florian Seiche had been employed by Microsoft and Nokia amongst other companies. He is now both the President and the Cheif Executive Officer of HMD Global and will be leading the company into its next phase.
Currently, HMD Global is at its peak with Nokia smartphones selling extremely well. Due to which Arto Nummela’s resignation from the post of CEO comes as a huge shock to the tech community. Mr. Nummela had joined HMD Global last year when they acquired Nokia, and had been previously a Nokia veteran, he also joined Microsoft. However, his future plans remain unclear.
