GoPro, the US-based tech company introduced two new cameras on Thursday, the GoPro Hero 6 Black and Fusion. The Hero 6 Black is powered by custom-designed GP1 processor and the company claims it to be the most powerful GoPro yet. The new GoPro camera is capable of recording videos in 4K60 and 1080p240 quality.
The GoPro Hero 6 is compatible with GoPro app and it enables user to create QuickStories which can be easily shared on social media platforms. Basically, with QuickStories, the footage on the camera moves to the GoPro app and transforms into video automatically. It is capable of recording full-HD slow-mo videos at 240 frames per second. The camera also comes with Touch Zoom feature and offer three times faster offload speeds via 5GHz Wi-Fi. The Hero 6 Black is waterproof up to 10 meters and it is compatible with Karma and existing GoPro mounts. Like its predecessor, the device has voice control feature in 10 language. However the new Hero 6 Black comes with an improved image quality, dynamic range, low-light performance and dramatically improved video stabilisation compared to previous iteration. The camera include- GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth among others.
Alongside the GoPro Hero 6 Black, the company also brought the Fusion 360-degree video camera that can capture 5.2K spherical content (VR) and offer gimbal-like stabilisation. Users can utilise the GoPro App to play back and share footage as VR content. Additionally, they can recapture and share spherical shot as a traditional fixed perspective video with the OverCapture feature in the app. The Fusion camera is capable of capturing 18MP spherical photos and it is waterproof upto 5 meters. The GoPro Fusion supports time lapse, night lapse, burst modes and include fusion grip mount. Like the Hero 6 Black it has voice control feature in 10 languages and comes with sensors- GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass.
Besides the two new camera, GoPro also launched a few other products including- ‘Shorty’, a pocket-able extension pole and tripod, ‘The Handler’, an updated floating hand grip with a quick-release mounting feature, and ‘Bite Mount + Floaty’ which is a versatile bite mount with an easy-to-spot float ideal for Point of View (POV) shooting.
The GoPro HERO6 Black is available on the company’s website GoPro.com and select retailers across the globe. The camera retails at a price of Rs. 45,000 in India and $499 in the US. The GoPro Fusion meanwhile is up for pre-order in USA, Canada, United Kingdom and the European Union and it is priced at $699.99 (around Rs 45,800).
