Gionee X1 has been announced in India at the price of Rs 8,999. It’s a new affordable smartphone introduced by the company that falls under sub-Rs 10,000 price segment. If you recall, we reported earlier this month that Gionee has geared up to launch two new handsets, A1 Lite and X1. Recently, Gionee unveiled the A1 Lite in India which is retailing for Rs 14,999. Now that Gionee has launched both the A1 Lite and X1 in India, it remains to see what the next handset, possibly X1S, is going to be all about.
Coming back to the Gionee X1, Gionee partnered Airtel and Paytm for some offers. All Airtel customers (both new and existing) purchasing the Gionee X1 are eligible for additional 10 GB data per month for 6 consecutive recharges. Customers will also receive two Paytm cash back vouchers, allowing Rs 250 cash back on a minimum purchase Rs 350 on Paytm Mall. The Gionee X1 is now up for grabs at all leading retailers across the country. The device measures 8.8mm in thickness and offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Specs-wise, the Gionee X1 sports a 5-inch 720p HD screen. Powering the device is a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage (up to 256GB). The phone houses an 8-megapixel rear shooter and 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video calls. Available in black and gold colour options, the Gionee X1 packs a 3,000mAh battery under the hood.
