Gionee’s dual front facing camera smartphone Gionee S10 is said to be launching in India soon. In an interview with tech publication, Gadget360, a Gionee executive confirmed the information at MWC Shanghai.
The executive as per the report further said that the Gionee S10 will be unveiled in India as the next ‘A-series’ flagship in the country. To refresh, the Chinese OEM launched the S10 along with two other variants- S10B and S10C in China back in May this year.
The highlight of the Gionee S10 is of course its four cameras. As for the specifications, it features features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) In-Cell display. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The device offers 64GB inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It carries a 3450mAh battery and runs Amigo 4.0 OS based Android 7.0 Nougat. As for optics, the new Gionee S10 sports a 16-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it gets a 20-megapixel camera along with an 8-megapixel camera.
The hybrid dual-SIM Gionee S10 supports 4G LTE and includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS in its connectivity suite.
The Gionee S10B which a mid-range smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTEk Helio P10 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Amigo 4.0 OS layered on top. The Gionee S10B also boasts a dual-rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. At front, it has a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. The smartphone packs a large 3700mAh battery. Connectivity options include- 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
Further the Gionee S10C, is a budget oriented handset that features a single camera module on the back panel. The phone comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash and 16-megapixel camera in the front. The phone sports a 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 resolution) IPS display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 427 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The dual-SIM Gionee S10C runs Amigo 4.0 OS based Android 7.0 Nougat. It has a battery backup of 3100mAh and supports 4G LTE.
The Gionee S10B went on sale in China on the launch date itself, while the Gionee S10 and S10C was made available for purchase the home country from June 9. The Gadget360 report however, has not mentioned the launch date for this new smartphone in India. The Gionee S10 is available in China in Cherry Gold, Dark Black, Indigo Blue and Primrose Green colour options. The phone is priced at CNY 2599 (rougly Rs. 24, 400) while the Gionee S10B has been priced at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 20,700). The S10C comes for a price of CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 15,000).
