A new Gionee smartphone which goes by the name Gionee F109 has been announced in China. Gionee F109 is priced at 1,299 yuan, which converts roughly at Rs 12,365. Last week, it was surfaced online revealing the set of features and price details. However, the device is now listed officially on the company website along with details such as price, technical specifications, and availability.
As far as specifications are concerned, Gionee F109 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD screen featuring 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. Design-wise, it boasts of a metal unibody weighing 142g and measuring 7.9mm in thickness. The official listing suggests Gionee F109 is powered by a 64-bit processor but no details on the exact chipset are mentioned. However, we have come across a few news reports claiming the device is powered by an entry-level MediaTek MT6737 SoC. We are yet to verify these claims, though.
Furthermore, Gionee F109 provides 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. The dual-SIM phone runs Gionee’s custom Amigo 4.0 UI on top of Android Nougat operating system. The device houses an 8-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and a 5-megapixel secondary shooter up front for selfies and video calls.

Gionee F109 packs a 2,660mAh Li-Po battery under the hood. The set of connectivity options includes Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone comes in a couple of colour options such as Gold and Black.
Recently, Gionee announced a selfie-focused Gionee A1 Plus in India offering a 20-megapixel front-facing shooter. Gionee A1 Plus is available to purchase in India at the price of Rs 26,999.
