Gionee today announced its new lineup of A series smartphones A1 and A1 Plus at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. The new A series targets selfie focused consumers globally with enhanced photo quality and long battery life, says company.
The big highlight of the Gionee A1 and Gionee A1 Plus is their selfie camera, which is 16-megapixel on A1 and 20-megapixel on A1 Plus. The cameras also accompany a customized selfie flash,which according to company spreads ‘light onto faces more evenly and softly.’ Other features include facial recognition, bokeh-selfie mode and more. The battery on A1 is 4010mAh and A1 Plus has 4550mAh battery. Gionee notes that it provides 18W ultrafast charge and dual charging chips within the A series so that users can enjoy a faster and safer charging experience.
Commenting on the launch of A1 and A1 Plus, William Lu, President of Gionee, said, “We have noticed that more and more people are regarding selfies as an expression of themselves and they tend to share their photos through various social channels whenever and wherever they are. As a consumer-oriented smartphone manufacturer, we hope to set up the evolution of the selfie experience and provide the best portfolio at the best price.”
The A1 features a primary 13-megapixel AF, F2.0, 5P lens camera, whereas the A1 Plus boasts of dual-camera setup of 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel F2.0, 5P lens. The A1 Plus runs on a MTK Helio P25 processor, while the A1 runs on a Helio P10. Both feature 5.5-inch 1080p display, Android 7.0, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The company has embedded Waves MaxxAudio processing in the A1 and A1 Plus.
The dual-SIM 4G LTE A1 and A1 Plus will be available in different colour options. The A1 comes in Gray, Black, Gold, while A1 Plus will come in Gray & Mocha Gold. The A1 and A1 Plus will be available for 349 Euro and 499 Euro respectively starting March and April, respectively.
