Gionee launched the A1 Lite and A1 Plus in India a few months back priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 26,999 respectively. Now both the devices have received a price cut. The Gionee A1 Lite is available for Rs 13,999 (Rs 1,000 discount) and the A1 Plus for Rs 23,999 (Rs 3,000 discount). The discount will be available on both online and offline platforms.
Alongside the price cut, customers will also be eligible for bundled offers from Paytm, Airtel and Reliance Jio. The customers purchasing the device from Paytm will get two cashback vouchers for Rs 250 each on Paytm Mall. However, these coupons will only be valid on purchases above Rs 350. Airtel users (both existing and new) will be getting an additional 10GB of 4G data for six months on data recharges of 1GB or above. Lastly, Reliance Jio users will get 10GB of additional data for six months on a recharge of Rs 309 or above.
The Gionee A1 Lite sports a 5.3-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6753 processor paired with the Mali T-720 GPU. It features 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It runs Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with the company’s Amigo 4.0 UI on top. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery. As for the camera, it features a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. If you are looking for an alternate option in this budget, I personally would recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which is still a much better option. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display and is an overall better package than the Gionee A1 Lite. What more, it is Rs 2,000 cheaper too.
The Gionee A1 Plus sports a 6-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. It runs Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with the company’s Amigo 4.0 UI on top, all of this is backed by a 4,550mAh non-removable battery with support for 18W ultrafast charging. As for the camera, it features a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor. On the front, it features a 20-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0. If you don’t want to get the Gionee A1 Plus, the Xiaomi Mi A1 would be a great alternative and would save you a whopping Rs 10,000. Yes, you read that right! The Mi A1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It has a dual camera setup too and runs stock version of Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat.
