Nokia today announced the hiring of Gregory Lee as the President of Nokia Technologies. Gregory Lee before this had led Samsung Electronics North America as its President and CEO for 13 years. Gregory’s role in Samsung was to look over the Samsung consumer electronics portfolio in North America.
“We have chosen the right leader to take Nokia Technologies forward at a time of renewed excitement about the Nokia brand around the world. Gregory’s passion for innovation and operational excellence, along with his proven ability to build and lead global consumer technology businesses make him well suited to advance Nokia’s efforts in virtual reality, digital health and beyond,”
said Rajeev Suri, President and CEO of Nokia
Nokia, as we can assume by the statement given by their CEO, is extremely happy to grab Gregory Lee from Samsung. Nokia also feels that hiring Lee will give them a huge boost in business.
“I am excited by the opportunity to lead Nokia Technologies. The Nokia Technologies team has produced innovative products and solutions in dynamic, high growth segments of the consumer technology market, and I am honoured to be in a position to help build on this success in the future,”
commented Gregory Lee
We checked Samsung’s website and it is still listing Gregory Lee as the President and CEO of Samsung Electronics in North America. After which we also got in touch with Samsung, they weren’t available for comment. Now, with Gregory joining Nokia we can see changes will be made to how the company works.
