Facebook has introduced a new feature that will allow users to make a list of various things and add it to their story. The company is calling this new feature as ‘Lists’. Users can further customise these lists by adding different backgrounds and emojis on them.
The status box currently contains options for users to add a poll, ask questions, add stickers, GIFs and much more. As per a report on TechCrunch, the company has started rolling this feature out in phases and is expected to be available across the world in the coming days. This new feature also allows the user’s friends to copy the list or share opinions on the list.
As per the report, Facebook with the introduction of this new feature is trying to add much more personalised content to the platform, so that users don’t see a lot of random content filling up their news feeds. With this feature, Facebook will be able to fill up the users’ news feed with what their friends are thinking or up to in their lives.
According to previous reports, Facebook has lost over 2.8 million users in the U.S. under age 25 in 2017, and if the decline rate continues they are on track to lose another 2.1 million in 2018. However, to curb this, Facebook is taking measures like changing the News Feed to bring more meaningful content to users. It remains to be seen if this will help the social network stem the exodus by the end of 2018.
