Two new affordable Gionee handsets dubbed A1 Lite and X1 will launch in India later this month, a source close to the company has revealed to Techook.com. Additionally, our source has confirmed yet another affordable handset Gionee X1S is also in the pipeline. However, the company is not planning to announce Gionee X1S in India just yet. Gionee X1S will be an upgrade over its younger counterpart X1. Gionee A1 Lite, on the other hand, is a toned down variant of Gionee A1 that was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 earlier this year along with Gionee A1 Plus.

Starting off with Gionee A1 Lite, it sports a 5.3-inch 720p IPS screen featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 277 pixels packed into every inch. The dual-SIM phone measures 8.0mm in thickness and weighs a little over 160g. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC, 3GB of RAM, and Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. The selfie-focused Gionee phone houses a 20-megapixel front shooter and a 13-megapixel rear shooter.

Gionee A1 Lite has 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 256GB using a dedicated memory card slot. It packs a 4,000mAh battery and runs Amigo 4.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The number of connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Gionee A1 Lite will come in three colour options like Black, Gold, and Red.

Gionee X1, which is set to cost less than Rs 10,000, boasts of a 5-inch 720p IPS in-cell display with 2.5D curved panel layered on top. The phone is powered by an entry-level MediaTek MT6737 SoC with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, thanks to a dedicated memory card slot. The dual-SIM device runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Amigo 4.0 OS on top.

Gionee X1 offers an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash and f/2.4 aperture. The phone measures 8.8mm in thickness and packs a 3,000mAh battery under the hood. The standard set of connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n(2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG.

Specifications and key details of Gionee X1S are not known just yet, though.
