The Chinese OEM, Coolpad is all set to debut a new smartphone in India on August 20. The company on its official Facebook page has teased the launch of the new Coolpad Cool Play 6.
The Cool Play was officially introduced in China in May this year for a price of CNY 1,499 (around Rs. 14,000). The phone boasts a metal unibody contoured with smooth edges. On the rear side, it has a dual camera setup, fine antenna lines running on top and bottom. The fingerprint sensor is embedded just below the dual rear camera. The volume rockers and the power button is located on the right edge, while the speaker grills are pitched at the bottom with the USB Type-C port sitting in the middle. On top, it has the 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone packs a big 4060mAh battery and is rated to deliver up to 252 hours of standby time.
As far as the specifications are confirmed, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 resolution) display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It packs 64GB inbuilt storage that can be further expanded using microSD slot. On the software front, the Cool Play 6 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
The smartphone as mentioned features dual rear cameras with 13-megapixel Sony sensors which come with phase detection autofocus, dual tone LED flash. The main camera has a 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture. At the front, it has an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture. The Coolpad Cool Play 6 was launched in its home town in two colour variants- Soft Gold and Black. Notably, Coolpad during the Coolpad Note 5 Lite C launch said that it will unveil its annual online flagship on August 20, which is expected to be available exclusively on Amazon India.
