Following Reliance Jio’s announcement of the extension of its free service, major telecom operators are gearing up to counter the extended-tariff scheme. BSNL, the state-owned telecom operator has launched a new plan that offers 10GB of data per day to its users. The ‘Experience Unlimited Broadband249’ brings unlimited voice calling as well. The user can avail this offer paying Rs. 249 per month.
However, unlike Jio that provides free calling service round the clock, BSNL free calling is entailed from 9pm at night till 7am in the morning. There’s another catch that the users should note before recharging with this new plan. The data speed under the ‘Experience Unlimited Broadband249’ is limited to 2Mbps. Voice calls, however is free on Sundays.
According to Telecomtalk.info, BSNL did not shared any information related to the speeds post the FUP of 10GB per day. Essentially, the state-owned firm is offering 300GB of data just for Rs. 249 per month.
BSNL in a press statement said,“Under this plan, customers can download ’10GB per day’ data by paying monthly charges of Rs 249/- only.”
Notably, the broadband249 plan was first announced by BSNL back in September last year. The ‘Experience Unlimited Broadband 249’ (BB249) offered 2 Mbps speeds up to 1 GB data and 1 Mbps speeds post the FUP. As Reliance Jio new ‘Summer Surprise‘ has offered 3 months of data service at the ‘cost of one’ for its users, BSNL’s cheap data plan BB249 might somehow fail to attract the consumers with regard to the data speed which is limited to 2Mbps.
