BlackBerry has launched its latest Android-based smartphone DTEK60 in India. The DTEK60 comes at a starting price of Rs 46,990. The phone however took its official stage on October, 2016.
BlackBerry has trimmed down its traditional qwerty keyboard and brought an all-touch Android-based DTEK smartphone. The DTEK60 features a 5.5-inch display with 1440×2560 pixel resolution. It has a pixel density of 534ppi. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The DTEK60 comes with 4GB of RAM paired with 32GB internal memory which is expandable up to 200GB via microSD card.
The phone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with BlackBerry’s custom launcher, keyboard and Hub. The phone comes with a non-removable 3000mAh battery and has Quick Charge 3.0 support. The DTEK60 sports a 21-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front. It features a finger-print scanner on the rear side of the phone.
In terms of design, the DTEK looks similar to the Alcatel Idol 4S. As TCL, the Chinese electronics company hold the license for manufacturing and selling BlackBerry smartphones, the company seems to embed a few bits from its own Alcatel brand. The device has a premium glass finish and soft curves on the edge. The phone measures 7mm thickness and weighs 165 grams.
This is a single SIM smartphone and has micro-SIM support. Connectivity options- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, type-C charging port, USB on-the-go, 3G and 4G with Band 40 support available for the users in India. Sensors include compass magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and gyroscope.
