Reliance Jio announced its Republic Day surprise for all JioPhone users. As per the company statement, JioPhone users shall soon benefit from 1GB high-speed data for Rs 49 along with unlimited calling for 28 days. The plan comes into effect starting 26th January 2018. Additionally, revised Jio prepaid plans go live the same day itself. So for sure, big savings await all Jio users this Republic Day.

Since Jio’s new Rs 49 plan is limited to JioPhone users, it won’t work with any other phone available out there. Not only other phones but the plan is not available for existing Jio prepaid users not using a JioPhone as well.

Reliance JioPhone runs Kai OS and offers a single Nano SIM slot, dual-core processor 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 x 240) display.
