Asus today will be launching the Asus Zenfone AR at an event in New-Delhi which will start at 2 PM IST. The Asus Zenfone AR is the company’s latest flagship which boasts of supporting Google’s Project Tango along with Daydream VR. This was the world’s first smartphone to feature 8GB of RAM. Asus will broadcast the event live on the company’s official YouTube channel or you can watch it below. The smartphone is going to be a Flipkart exclusive device as Flipkart has already put up a banner announcing the launch of the smartphone on their website.

The Zenfone AR will face heavy competition from the flagships currently dominating the Indian market like the Galaxy S8 Plus, OnePlus 5, and the iPhone 7 Plus. There aren’t many smartphones that provide Google’s Project Tango support or Daydream VR support so this might be one of the most important devices in the tech industry for the year. We will get to know more details about the pricing, availability, and the offers that they will give with the phone at the launch event.

Asus first showed off this smartphone at CES, and it was the first phone in the world to come with 8GB of RAM. It was also the second phone in the world to support Google’s Project Tango after the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. Along with all of this, the Zenfone AR supports Google’s Daydream View VR.

The Asus Zenfone AR comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 2K display, it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The Zenfone AR runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. All of this is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery.

The main feature of this smartphone is that it uses a TriCam system to support Google’s Project Tango. The TriCam system makes use of three cameras – a 23-megapixel camera, a depth sensing camera and a motion tracking camera. On the front, you get an 8-megapixel camera.
