Asus had showcased the Zenfone 3 Zoom along with the Zenfone AR ar CES 2017 in January. They launched the Zenfone AR in India on Thursday for Rs. 49,999. It looks like the company is preparing for the Indian launch of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. Peter Chang Asus’s South Asia and Country Regional Head during the launch of the Zenfone AR stated that the Zenfone 3 Zoom will be launching in India soon. However, he did not reveal any specific details as to when they will be launching the smartphone in India.
A new report from 91mobiles citing their internal source in Asus says that the device will be launched in India in the second half of August. This might be true as the company during previous events in India has said that the Zenfone AR and the Zenfone 3 Zoom might launch back to back. Gizbot also has stated on their website that the device might launch at Rs. 25,800 in India. However, you need to keep in mind that company’s keep adjusting their prices to match the markets till the device launches, and if this price is correct, Asus might change the price last moment to adjust to the market.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom comes with a 5.5-inch FullHD AMOLED display along with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, it is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU, the phone has different storage and RAM variants currently available – 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB Internal Storage expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. The phone will be running on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system along with the Zen UI 3.0 skin on top, this might be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat when the phone launches. All of this will be powered by a 5,000mAh non-removable battery.
As for the camera, the smartphone comes with a dual camera setup at the back, with both the cameras being of 12-megapixel resolution each. On the front, the device has a 13-megapixel selfies camera along with a Sony IMX214 sensor. The device will be available in Navy Black, Glacier Silver, Rose Gold colour options.
